Medicare Supplement Insurance helps people pay for their share of the costs of healthcare services covered by Medicare. These costs include:
Deductibles
A set amount you pay before Medicare starts covering your expenses. Medicare has two deductibles: Part A (hospital services) and Part B (medical services).
Hospital Expenses
Medicare covers your hospital stays for the first sixty days after you pay your Part A deductible.
Cost Sharing
After meeting your Part B deductible, Medicare covers 80 percent of your costs, and you pay the remaining 20 percent.
